The Honda Prologue has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Honda Prologue achieved a “Good” rating - the highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Genesis Electrified GV70 has not been tested.

The Honda Prologue comes with a standard Surround Vision System with a rear camera washer to provide all-weather visibility, regardless of road dirt or grime, while the Genesis Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a camera washer, requiring manual cleaning.

Both the Prologue and the Electrified GV70 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

There are almost 5 times as many Honda dealers as there are Genesis dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Prologue’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Honda vehicles are better in initial quality than Genesis vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Honda above average in initial quality. With 3 more problems per 100 vehicles, Genesis is rated lower.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Honda fourth in overall reliability. Genesis is ranked 14th.

For better traction, the Prologue Elite’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Electrified GV70 (275/45R21 vs. 265/45R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Prologue Elite has standard 21-inch wheels. The Electrified GV70’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The Honda Prologue’s wheels have 6 lugs for longer wheel bearing life, less chance of rotor warping and greater strength. The Genesis Electrified GV70 only has 5 wheel lugs per wheel.

The Prologue has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the Prologue can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Prologue’s wheelbase is 8.6 inches longer than on the Electrified GV70 (121.8 inches vs. 113.2 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Prologue is 1.4 inches wider in the front and 1.1 inches wider in the rear than on the Electrified GV70.

For greater off-road capability the Prologue has a 1.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Electrified GV70 (8.1 vs. 6.9 inches), allowing the Prologue to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Prologue has 8.9 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Electrified GV70 (111.7 vs. 102.8).

The Prologue has 1 inch more front headroom, .1 inches more front legroom, 1.5 inches more front hip room, .3 inches more front shoulder room, 2.8 inches more rear legroom, .9 inches more rear hip room and .7 inches more rear shoulder room than the Electrified GV70.

The Prologue has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Electrified GV70 with its rear seat folded (57.7 vs. 56.5 cubic feet).

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Honda service is better than Genesis. J.D. Power ranks Honda 7th in service department satisfaction (above the industry average). With a 47% lower rating, Genesis is ranked 29th.

If the windows are left open on the Prologue the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Electrified GV70 can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Prologue’s standard Push Button Start and Smart Entry allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the vehicle, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Proximity Key standard on the Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The Prologue is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
