Both the Prologue and the Lyriq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

There are over 88 percent more Honda dealers than there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Prologue’s warranty.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Prologue’s reliability 25 points higher than the Lyriq.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Honda vehicles are better in initial quality than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Honda above average in initial quality. With 33 more problems per 100 vehicles, Cadillac is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2025 Auto Issue reports that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Honda fourth in overall reliability. Cadillac is ranked 21st.

The Prologue’s optional electric motors produces 30 lbs.-ft. more torque (355 vs. 325) than the Lyriq’s standard electric motor.

The Prologue has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Lyriq doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

For greater off-road capability the Prologue has a 1.1 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Lyriq (8.1 vs. 7 inches), allowing the Prologue to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Honda Prologue may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 550 to 650 pounds less than the Cadillac Lyriq.

The Prologue is 4.7 inches shorter than the Lyriq, making the Prologue easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Prologue has 6.6 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Lyriq (111.7 vs. 105.1).

The Prologue has 1 inch more front headroom, 1.1 inches more front hip room, .5 inches more front shoulder room, .4 inches more rear headroom and .4 inches more rear hip room than the Lyriq.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Prologue. The Lyriq doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The Prologue’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Lyriq’s (1500 vs. 0 pounds).

The Prologue Elite has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, navigation instruction, infotainment and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

If the windows are left open on the Prologue the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Lyriq can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Prologue has a standard rear wiper. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) conducts detailed tests on headlights for their range both straight ahead and in curves and to be certain they don’t exceed acceptable amounts of glare to oncoming drivers. The Prologue’s headlights were rated “Acceptable” by the IIHS, while the Lyriq’s headlights are rated “Poor.”

The Honda Prologue outsold the Cadillac Lyriq by 902 units during 2024.
